Our Labs

Virtualized Experience Infrastructure

What if you as an IT thought leader could deliver . . . . A truly virtualized collaborative workspace to all users within your borderless enterprise. A workspace environment that delivers a consistent, uncompromised user experience to data and applications, rich media collaboration and communications services, anywhere, across any device, and across any connection, securely and transparently. Cisco's Virtual Experience Infrastructure delivers a service-optimized virtualized platform with rich services end to end across all three Cisco architectures – Data Center, Borderless Networks, and Collaboration. Visit Cisco during the Geek Day event and see Cisco's new tablet, the CIUS (see us), as well as the new VME thin-client virtual desktop devices deliver a new virtualized experience.

Unified Computing System

Virtualization is creating a market transition in which servers have become objects that move throughout the network. The data center's networking and compute infrastructure need to evolve to support this change. Cisco's Unified Computing System (UCS) integrates a low latency unified network fabric with enterprise-class x86 architecture servers along with virtualization resources. The system is an integrated, scalable, modular platform in which all resources participate in a unified management domain. A management domain driven by Cisco's embedded UCS manager that provides unified and centralized management of all software and hardware components of Cisco's Unified Computing System across multiple chassis and thousands of virtual machines. If you didn't have a chance to see Cisco's Unified Computing System at last years Geekday visit Cisco to see the chassis and rack mount Unified Computing Systems as well as the UCS manager.

Data Center and Secure Mobility

As virtualization continues its rapid penetration into the information technology infrastructure, security, data protection, and privacy compliance rules, historically formulated for the physical server, can be compromised. With virtualization enabling multiple operating systems to share a single physical server, a way to replicate traditional security and segmentation policies for virtualization servers is required. Visit Cisco during Geek Day to see how Cisco's Virtual Security Gateway delivers security and compliance for virtual computing environments.

Do you have Apple iPads and other mobile devices making their way into the workplace? Mobility changes everything. It changes how and where people work – and it creates new IT security challenges. Visit Cisco during Geekday and see how the Cisco's AnyConnect Secure Mobility Solution provides comprehensive and secure remote access. Mobile users can enjoy persistent connectivity back to their corporations, and IT administrators can enable smart, context aware security policies to protect corporate assets.

Our Breakout

Cisco's Virtual Experience Infrastructure (VXI)
Tom Guerrette, VXI Product Manager

Although VDI technology has been available for more than half a decade, only now are technical and cost barriers to large-scale deployments being addressed.

Cisco's VXI solution is the first in the industry to bind together the three critical elements of an end-to-end deployment - the Virtualized Collaborative Workspace, the Virtualization Aware Borderless Network, and the Virtualized Data Center - and the four main Business Drivers in the movement toward VDI - Flexibility / Business Continuity, Data Security, the end user experience, and control of TCO. It draws on Cisco's architectural advantage to provide a solution that supports the diversity of endpoint devices, extends pervasive security and policy management to each virtual desktop, uses a new and innovative virtualization-optimized stateless server computing model, and uses the power of the Cisco's 3 Architectures to deliver a superior collaboration and rich media user experience with best in class ROI in a fully integrated, open and validated desktop virtualization solution.
