World Wide Technology Partners with AeroScout
Partnership Aimed at Bringing Active RFID Solutions to the Healthcare, Manufacturing and Logistics Markets
ST. LOUIS (March 13, 2007) – World Wide Technology, Inc. (WWT), a market-leading systems integrator that provides innovative technology and supply chain solutions, today announced a strategic partnership with AeroScout, the leading provider of Wi-Fi-based Active RFID solutions. WWT will leverage the AeroScout partnership and its long-standing relationship with Cisco Systems® to help its customers enhance operations through improved asset utilization, security and tracking by utilizing a single, unified wireless network for data, voice and location services.
“All organizations – from healthcare to manufacturing – are facing increased pressure to improve service quality and speed to market whether that is patient care or aircraft manufacturing,” said Robert Olwig, vice president of business strategy for World Wide Technology. “The location-based services we can bring to market through AeroScout enable significant productivity improvements and cost savings by using standard Wi-Fi networks and Active RFID technology to improve business processes through accurate, real-time asset tracking.”
AeroScout helps businesses improve key processes through the accurate tracking and detection of valuable assets. The company’s small, battery-powered Active RFID tags and enterprise software platform work with standard networking equipment from Cisco to deliver advanced location-based services. For example, within the healthcare sector, AeroScout products are used to help nurses accurately locate infusion pumps on a hospital floor. In aerospace manufacturing, the solution helps ensure that valuable airplane parts and equipment are in the right place at the right time for assembly.
“We are pleased to welcome World Wide Technology as a Gold partner and applaud their commitment to supporting AeroScout location-based solutions through their sales and professional services organizations,” said Gabi Daniely, vice president of marketing and product strategy at AeroScout. “Active RFID solutions that utilize standard Wi-Fi networks provide tremendous business value in many industries including manufacturing, healthcare and logistics. We look forward to working with WWT to bring our products to their global customer base.”
