World Wide Technology Accelerates IP Telephone Migration

for the State of Alaska

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (November 14, 2006) – World Wide Technology, Inc. (WWT), a market-leading systems integrator that provides innovative technology and supply chain solutions, announced today it has been awarded a $15 million IT procurement contract with the State of Alaska, Department of Administration. WWT has expanded its operations in Alaska to meet the regions growing need for advanced technology solutions, employing 29 people and opening new offices in Anchorage.

“WWT is committed to successfully moving the State of Alaska to a converged, enterprise-wide network to meet the State’s telecommunication needs today and well into the future,” said Joseph G. Koenig, president of WWT. “Although the needs of every enterprise are different, some things are universal – planning, communication, teamwork, and understanding of your customer’s requirements. We have worked closely with the State of Alaska, increasing the project’s pace and schedule to minimize service disruptions. The collective effort from the State and its other vendors is an excellent example of effective collaboration and project management.”

The IP telephone migration contract is focused on telecommunication integration support and will maximize the State’s converged technology platform, satisfying the various needs of its end users with a full-range of integration services. Under the terms of the contract, WWT will deploy 15,000 IP phones for the State of Alaska in Anchorage, Juneau and Fairbanks.

“There is no better path to the successful implementation of a new technology than to follow in the experienced footsteps of an organization that has already been there and we have found this in WWT.” said Stan Herrera, VOIP project director for the State of Alaska. “The collaborative efforts recently demonstrated to successfully accelerate the schedule for placing IP Telephony phones due to an outage suffered by the Anchorage PBX (phone switch) could not have occurred without disciplined execution from a proven vendor like World Wide Technology.”
