World Wide Technology Acquires Server Centric Consulting
ST. LOUIS and SAN FRANCISCO (August 31, 2009) – World Wide Technology, Inc. (WWT), a market-leading systems integrator that provides innovative technology and supply chain solutions, has acquired St. Louis-based Server Centric Consulting, who specializes in virtualization technology solutions. The acquisition of Server Centric strengthens WWT’s data center growth plans with substantial engineering talent, Intellectual Property and key certifications with VMware, Citrix, Microsoft and Virtual Iron.
“Attracting and retaining talented people in the IT sector is a challenge in any economic environment,” said Jim Kavanaugh, chief executive officer for WWT. “With the acquisition of Server Centric, we acquire Intellectual Property and a seasoned team of top-flight IT talent that will help accelerate our go to market strategy domestically and internationally. We also acquire the trust and solid reputation that Server Centric has built over the last seven years with partners and customers. We couldn’t be happier with the expanded capabilities they bring to our global efforts as we help our clients take full advantage of virtualization technology.”
WWT currently provides technology products from more than 3,000 manufacturers and maintains over 1,000 certifications to ensure it provides the latest in IT solutions and services to solve business problems for its customers. The company is one of Cisco’s largest Gold partners and the number one supplier of Cisco products to the U.S. Federal government. In addition to its strong Cisco expertise, the company has strategic partnerships with HP, EMC, NetApp, Sun Microsystems, and VMware.
“Server Centric has long sought the appropriate partner for expanding its reach and optimizing the world-class talent we have assembled,” said Scott Miller, President of Server Centric. “With WWT’s reputation, global reach and networking solutions expertise, we have clearly found that partner. As virtualization becomes more tightly integrated with the network architecture, our decision to join forces with World Wide Technology will give our clients a single trusted advisor for all their datacenter needs – from servers, desktops, storage, security and networking to the virtualization solutions that tie them all together."
Server Centric will adopt the World Wide Technology name. WWT does not foresee changes in the employee base, and indeed expects to add its employee roster as the company uses the assets of Server Centric to expand its professional services business. The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
