World Wide Technology Awarded National Institutes of Health's ECS III Contract
St. Louis, Missouri – December 18, 2002 – World Wide Technology, Inc. (WWT) announced today that it is a winner of the latest National Institutes for Health Electronic Commodity Store, NIH ECS III multiple-award contract, to provide information technology products, services and leasing. As quoted by Elmer Sembly, communications director at NITAAC, "We want to make this the homeland security vehicle of choice."
ECS III is a government-wide acquisition contract open to all federal agencies and authorized government contractors with high-level security clearances. It is a ten-year contract with an estimated worth of $6 billion. Through the contract, WWT will provide PCs, workstations, network equipment, peripherals, software, extended warranties and maintenance from manufacturers such as, Sun Microsystems, Oracle, Cisco, Dell and Compaq.
As a previous winner of the NIH ECS II contract, World Wide Technology was the Top Small Business Performer on the contract and ranked number five in overall sales.
