World Wide Technology Acquires Scientific and Engineering Workstation Procurement III (SEWP) Contract from ECS Technologies Inc.
Contract Allows WWT To Sell Through SEWP III
St. Louis, Missouri – June 30, 2004 – World Wide Technology, Inc. (WWT) today announced it has acquired selected assets of ECS Technologies Inc. including contract No. NAS5-02144 awarded in connection with NASA's Scientific and Engineering Workstation Procurement III (SEWP) program. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
"Acquiring these assets, including access to the SEWP program, is a strategic move for World Wide Technology," said Joe Koenig, president of WWT. "Combined with WWT's proven past performance and streamlined ordering process, this contract is a great fit for our distribution model. It is also a great addition to our current portfolio of contracts which includes GSA Federal Supply Schedule, NIH ECS III, SSG IT2 BPA, GSA FAST IDIQ's, State of Missouri Prime Vendor Contract and various agency specific contracts. Overall, it builds upon our current flexibility to serve federal customers and major prime contractors."
SEWP is a Government-Wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC) consisting of 23 contracts, including 10 small business contracts, which enable purchasers to buy a wide selection of technology - from Unix, Linux, and Windows-based workstations and servers, to peripherals, network equipment, storage devices, and other technology products.
"With SEWP, WWT now offers federal agencies an additional avenue to purchase best-of-breed technology at the most competitive prices," said Bill McKeon, director of federal sales of WWT. "SEWP enhances WWT's ability to provide all of the necessary supporting technical and supply chain services based on our extensive experience and our established partnerships with multiple vendors."
