A way to adopt new operating models for deploying and managing network infrastructure
The industry is re-inventing the role of the infrastructure engineer, with a significant shift in the skills needed to operate private and public clouds. World Wide Technology (WWT) is partnering with F5 Networks to help with this shift. Through our partnership, we’re helping organizations adopt new operating models that apply DevOps principals to deploying and managing network infrastructure.
F5’s Super-NetOps initiative is a means to realize this approach and is targeted at more than automating the F5 BIG-IP Application Delivery Controller (ADC) technology. It takes a systemic view of the infrastructure and enables orchestration incorporating Ansible Tower by Red Hat, Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) and IPAM solutions by Infoblox.
Custom training curriculum
The core of this initiative is a training program that will educate customers on the rapidly changing role of the infrastructure engineer. WWT is creating custom curriculum to teach engineers how to work smarter, eliminate toil and improve efficiency in data center operations.
We’re also building virtual lab environments in our Advanced Technology Center (ATC) for hands-on learning. After completing this program, a Super-NetOps engineer will be someone who has adopted the DevOps operating model and applied those principles to a programmable infrastructure approach.
Courses also cover the cultural and process changes that come with adopting a DevOps model. Processes that ultimately help organizations break down operational silos and get the right teams doing the right work to drive better business outcomes. With this new approach, organizations will also realize:
- Cost: Increased efficiencies, resource reduction
- Time: Respond more quickly to business demands
- Risk: Repeatable, tested processes that reduce errors
