WWT Challenges Employees and Partners to Participate in Movember
It’s that time of year again – when the men of WWT’s southwest sales team show off their moustaches to promote awareness for prostate cancer, testicular cancer, poor mental health and physical inactivity in men.
The month-long campaign is sponsored by The Movember Foundation, a charity that is focused on improving men’s health on a global scale. The organization has been encouraging men to show off their upper lips since 2003 and funded over a thousand men’s health projects thanks to the month of Movember.
WWT’s Continued Support of Movember
We are proud to participate in the Movember Technology Challenge, which strives to ignite some charitable competition between companies in the tech industry. WWT challenges our partners to join in the competitive spirit and work to take home the title of top fundraising team.
The WWT team is once again led by regional sales manager Matt Campisi, who is passionate about changing the face of men’s health. “I wanted to be a part of finding a cure for prostate cancer,” Matt says. “My grandfather had prostate cancer, making it more likely that I will have to battle it one day.”
When asked about his feelings towards his moustache, Matt says, “I welcome the strange looks and jokes about my moustache as it evolves over the month, if it draws attention to the cause and helps to raise money!”
How to Get Involved
Make sure you perfect your grooming before the end of the month, when the best and worst moustaches will be crowned, along with the individual who raised the most in donations.
Even those without the ability to grow can get involved in Movember. The foundation encourages women to sign up as “Mo Sistas” and donate to Movember by participating in the Move challenge to encourage daily exercise.
