WWT has become F5's largest and most strategic partner globally thanks to a symbiotic relationship as David Homoney, a Technical Solutions Architect for WWT, said at the recent F5 Agility conference.

"Together we've been able to improve multi-cloud networking and application delivery," Homoney said. "We've shown those accustomed to working with different data centers and configurations that integrating multiple public and private clouds can provide immediate results without overly complex architectures."

WWT's Advanced Technology Lab (ATC) has served as a focal point for the partnership. Customers interested in leveraging F5 application delivery services can test how these systems perform in different cloud environments to find the best outcome.

When using the ATC, F5 customers can collaborate, design and test solutions in sandbox environments. This ensures that F5 achieves technical excellence, both when weighed against competitors and delivering technology to clients.

Or as Homoney put it, "they can get their hands dirty on the technology."

Securing multicloud applications

To help secure applications, F5 and WWT leverage a system built on automation to remove complexity and risk. WWT and F5 leverage Red Hat Ansible, an open-source software provisioning, configuration management, and application-deployment tool enabling infrastructure as code.

By using F5's iControl REST API and Red Hat Ansible in the ATC, organizations can set up high-functioning playbooks to manage the automation of application security. Not only does this create a simple, stateless architecture, but it allows for a more straightforward approach to processing data with extremely low overhead.

F5 offers an Ansible Automation Training Lab that can be used as the basis for work in WWT's ecosystem. Customers can take this tool and find what solutions work best in their environments. Most customers start with simple tasks and then build their way up.

Improving overall customer application security is the critical way WWT has worked with F5 throughout our relationship.
