Cisco Live 2025: Collab, Meetings and Workspace Takeaways

Key takeaways
It's no surprise that AI was a substantial focus at Cisco Live 2025. Most of Cisco's announcements were centered around their AI strategy in security, infrastructure and observability. Although recent tradition has seen Cisco save Collaboration news for their WebexOne event in the Fall, Cisco did manage to squeeze in some exciting AI-related Collaboration announcements at Live. These were not only focused on devices, but also software and infrastructure.
Cisco Room Vision PTZ
Cisco first unveiled its AI-powered Room Vision PTZ camera, which can be ordered in June 2025. It features automated speaker tracking and intelligent framing using computer vision, which identifies active speakers and adjusts camera positioning in real time to ensure the best end-user experience. The Room Vision PTZ is the newest addition to their AVoIP portfolio, joining the Table Mic Pro and the Ceiling Mic Pro. This trio of peripherals supports PoE+ standards, allowing faster multi-camera and microphone deployments without traditional cable limitations, reducing hardware, installation costs, and simplifying maintenance and management.
Zoom integration for Cisco video devices
New devices weren't Cisco's only announcement last week. While Cisco is known for its focus on interoperability with platforms such as Google and Microsoft Teams, Cisco and Zoom are now partnering to offer Zoom for Cisco video devices. This enhanced Zoom support aims to provide a high-quality, seamless experience for joining Zoom meetings, flexible content sharing and advanced camera modes. This integration will be available on various Cisco devices, including the Room Bar, Board Pro models, Desk Pro and Room Kit series running the newest version of RoomOS. This enhancement is expected to be generally available by the end of 2025.
Future-proofed workplaces
Future-proofed workplaces were also an important topic at Live. Dozens of Spaces kiosks were deployed throughout the convention floor, providing living maps and turn-by-turn directions to meeting spaces, vendor booths and building facilities. Cisco further displayed the advantages of the coalescence of their network infrastructure and video devices by highlighting how this integration can directly impact room environmentals and sustainability. Cisco's video devices can now use their built-in AI capabilities to directly interface with building management systems, augmenting power consumption and HVAC. Now Cisco's conference room hardware can raise and lower the temperature of the room based on occupancy.
On-prem integration with WebEx AI tools
As customers continue to move collaboration workflows to the cloud, there are still certain industries and verticals that prefer to stay on-prem. Cisco showed their commitment to these customers by announcing some on-prem AI feature enhancements. Customers relying on premises-based Contact Center Enterprise deployments have had to rely on third party integrations to provide AI agents or workflows until now. CCE Release 15 now provides customers with an on-premises integration to the Webex AI Agent and Assistant. This new release also allows for the integration of third party AI solutions for better customer outcomes.
Final thought
These announcements highlight Cisco's continued AI development and focus on bringing together the advantages of their networking infrastructure and devices expertise. It will be interesting to see how Cisco expands on these offerings at WebexOne.
