WWT's thought leadership sessions at SC25
Workflows, Not Workloads: The Future of HPC, AI & Big Data
Hosted by Earl Dodd, Global HPC Business Practice Lead
Drawing parallels to Henry Ford's assembly line, we will highlight how workflow thinking accelerates insight, ensures reproducibility, and enables cost control across hybrid and multicloud environments. Topics include:
- Workflow orchestration in HPC/AI pipelines using tools such as NextFlow, Snakemake, WDL, Cromwell and Airflow.
- Hybrid flexibility: Balancing on-premises HPC with cloud bursting for agility and scale.
- Compliance and reproducibility: Structured, auditable pipelines that reduce risk in regulated domains.
- Knowledge preservation: Encoding expert practices into workflows to mitigate the "Silver Tsunami" of retiring talent.
- Case studies: Accelerating drug discovery, optimizing energy production and advancing automotive materials design.
Attendees will leave with a clear understanding of how workflow optimization transforms HPC from a collection of isolated jobs into a strategic engine for innovation.

As organizations roll out tools like ChatGPT, Copilot, Glean AI, and Claude Code, employees often face a mix of excitement and uncertainty. Learning how to prompt effectively bridges that gap.
This interactive 30-minute session shows how clear communication, prompting, and guidance with AI build confidence, reduce resistance, and accelerate adoption. Participants learn practical ways to frame requests, add context, and guide AI behavior—skills that turn hesitation into experimentation and experimentation into value.
Whether you're a leader introducing AI or a professional trying to use it well, this session helps you get better results from the tools you already have.
It's a fast-paced preview of WWT's Prompting 101: Prompting for Success, the foundational course that equips teams to adopt AI with clarity, confidence, and measurable impact
