Telecoms Security Act - The Journey to Compliance
Learn more about the new UK telecoms network regulations and how WWT can support you through these changes.
The Telecoms Security Act (TSA) is being introduced to ensure service providers identify and reduce the risk of potential security compromises more quickly. For service providers, it means that all legacy equipment and systems must be audited and replaced with solutions able to withstand modern attack methods.
The new regulations will incorporate more automation, better AI-led threat detection and advanced analytics, ultimately reshaping the infrastructure of all telecoms operating in the UK.
What is TSA, and why should you care?
Those failing to meet the new standards set out by the TSA could see financial penalties and potential reputational damage. Repercussions could include fines of up to 10 percent of turnover or even imprisonment.
On the other hand, service providers who view additional security as a benefit and who focus on being equipped to prevent cyber threats could become industry leaders in the eyes of the Government.
How WWT can help
Here, the Government outlines what the requirements mean for providers. The legislation is far-reaching and network operators and telecom providers must audit all technologies, third-party solutions and systems they already have in place to identify gaps and products that are not TSA compliant.
