The job market looks bright for skilled tech professionals thanks to the accelerating pace of innovation revolutionizing the tech industry over the past several years. By 2034, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, overall employment in computer and information technology jobs is projected to increase faster than the average for all occupations. A 2025 report on tech trends from McKinsey broke it down even further, and found notable increases in job postings within these tech categories: agentic AI (a whopping 985% increase in job postings between 2023 and 2024), generative AI (a 35% increase in job postings), application specific semi-conductors (a 22% increase), cybersecurity (a 7% increase) and mobility technologies (a 6% increase).

Despite an abundance of job openings, however, it's not always apparent which companies are top-tier employers offering engaging work, flexible schedules, opportunities for growth or competitive compensation packages. So, leave that to Forbes, which has ranked America's Best Employers For Tech Workers 2025.

Learn where World Wide Technology ranked on the Forbes list.

To create this second-annual list, Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista and surveyed more than 25,000 tech workers in the United States employed at companies across all sectors with at least 1,000 people in the country. Tech workers were defined as professionals who identified themselves as having a job focused on "tech" or "IT functions," including software development, cybersecurity, cloud computing, data project management, technical support and more.

Survey respondents were asked how likely they would be to recommend their current employer, their previous employer (within the past two years), and companies they knew through peers in their industry, or through friends or family who worked there. Current workers were also asked to evaluate their employers based on such criteria as: salary, professional development opportunities, workplace flexibility, the ability of employees to express ideas and opinions openly, and if the company has a reputation for being technologically progressive. Data from the past three years of Forbes-Statista employee surveys was included.

Responses were tallied and analyzed, with data from current employees weighted more heavily than older data or than responses from past employees or people who had never worked at the company. Each employer was then given a score, and the top 300 companies made our list of America's Best Employers For Tech Workers 2025.
