High-Tech Sunday #34 Rick Piña

Rick Piña joined World Wide Technology, a technology services provider based in St. Louis, MO, in 2015, after serving in the U.S. Army for 25 years. His culminating assignment in the Army was as chief technology officer (CTO), the principal technical advisor to the Army Chief Information Officer (CIO).

Piña is a Distinguished Member of the U.S. Army Signal Regiment and a recipient of the Signal Corps Regimental Association's Silver Order of Mercury Award. He is currently a member of the board of a non-profit dedicated to preserving the history of Army communications. Piña earned an M.B.A. and a bachelor's degree in business administration from Trident University.

As chief technology advisor for the public sector at World Wide Technology (WWT), Piña leads a technology and innovation group comprised of former chief information officers (CIOs), chief technology officers (CTOs), chief information security officers (CISOs), and senior vice presidents (SVPs). The team engages with customers on strategy, innovation, and transformation focused on outcomes at an enterprise scale.

Piña also leads WWT's employee resource group: Hispanics Embracing Awareness and Racial/Ethnic Diversity (H.E.A.R.D.).
