World Wide Technology and Mercy Expand Partnership to Support Employee Wellness
Mercy to manage WWT Family Health Centers to grow services and incorporate more virtual health options to WWT employees and their families.
ST. LOUIS – Oct. 24, 2017 – World Wide Technology (WWT), a market-leading technology solution provider, today announced the expansion of its partnership with Mercy to include the management of two on-site Family Health Centers to support employees and their families. The new partnership is part of CEO Jim Kavanaugh’s and Chairman Dave Steward’s continued effort to make WWT a great place to work, by expanding and improving healthcare access for employees and covered dependents to a variety of free on-site services. These services range from primary care providers to prescription drug dispensing to annual flu vaccinations.
WWT opened its Family Health Centers in August 2015, in St. Louis and Edwardsville, Ill. The convenience of these on-site health centers has enabled WWT to conduct annual health screenings for more than half of its employee population, with more than 1,400 already completed in 2017. The Health Centers have already exceeded 6,000 visits in 2017, and under the guidance of new lead physician Dr. Jeffrey Atkins, WWT is anticipating giving out 1,000 flu shots this season to employees and their families.

WWT and Mercy have worked hand-in-hand since 2015, when Mercy opened the doors to its Virtual Care Center, the world’s first facility dedicated entirely to care outside its own walls. To make this possible, WWT helped build the Virtual Care Center’s data center where massive amounts of patient data is processed and analyzed for predictive treatment. Additionally, WWT software development teams created a custom software application to create an easy interface for care teams and patients. The application has an evolving software infrastructure using innovation with APIs on top of Cisco technologies, which made it possible for highly sensitive two-way cameras to put doctors at the bedside, wherever that is, while sensors bring in real-time data to detect deteriorations in health.
