With over 12 years in the manufacturing industry holding various operational leadership and enterprise IT roles Chris has a unique perspective on business and technology challenges. This perspective drives how he operates and leads his “business first” mentality, where IT and OT are tools to deliver value. Chris started his career as an electrical engineer for the mining company Rio Tinto, completing several rotations at various ore processing facilities and power stations. He transitioned into being an automation engineer and progressed into operations leadership. At the time, Rio Tinto was undergoing business and operational convergence and Chris moved into a regional IT/OT leadership role in the UK/EU and oversaw delivery of several Industry 4.0 digital transformation programs and updates to operations. He moved into IT/OT site leadership at pharmaceutical manufacturer Elanco Animal Health and then held several focused SME roles within Eli Lilly. Chris returned to Elanco Animal Health in 2018 to oversee the Manufacturing operations separation from Eli Lilly and finally held an enterprise architecture role for the newly independent Elanco Animal Health. Chris holds a Bachelor of Engineering with Honors in Electronic & Electrical Engineer from the University of Dundee as well as Lean Six Sigma certification.
