Automation Core Concepts

The Automation Foundations learning path is designed to prepare infrastructure architects and engineers for the journey toward automation. Automation in practice includes a broad ecosystem of skills beyond the specific language or system chosen to automate or orchestrate. This learning path targets building that ecosystem of skills to ensure your automation journey is successful. The fundamental skills covered in this learning path include Linux operating system concepts, setting up your development environment, version control and collaboration features, formats for your data, and application programming interfaces. Each concept covered in this learning path is coupled with both content and hands-on exercises to solidify the knowledge.

CICD for Automation Engineers

This lab is a component of the Infrastructure Automation Automated Testing learning path in the Infrastructure Automation with Ansible Learning Series. The goal of this learning path is to provide hands-on and practical exposure to the concepts of implementing Continuous Integration Continuous Delivery. The lab will utilize Gitea as the Source Code Manager (SCM) which includes Gitea Actions for executing CICD Workflows. Gitea Actions map almost identically to GitHub actions so the Gitea specific knowledge gained maps directly to GitHub implementations. The general concepts learning through this lab are also valuable and applicable across other implementations.

Implementing Static Code Analysis

Ensuring your code meets syntactical and style standards is an important part of the automation development process. This training lab will introduce you to different linters that can be used in an Ansible automation development lifecycle. A linter is a tool that analyzes source code to identify and report potential errors, bugs, stylistic errors, and other issues, helping to improve code quality. You will learn about two different linters and multiple points of execution to ensure that only clean code reaches your production branch.
