Red Hat OpenShift Training

The Red Hat OpenShift Training is structured as a hybrid workshop and is delivered by a technology specific subject matter expert in a workshop format, either virtually via the customer's preferred meeting application or onsite at the customer's location. The engagement combines an SME engagement, workshop, training and lab demo all in one interactive experience that focuses on learning a new technology, best practices and how it will fit into the customer's current environment.

Agenda

OpenShift Introduction 

  • Introduction to OpenShift Architecture 
  • Deploy OpenShift Container Platform 
  • Familiarize with the OpenShift Console 

Project, User and RBAC Policy Management 

  • Create/delete projects 
  • Set resource quotas 
  • Configure an IdP 
  • Add/delete users 
  • Create RBAC policies and apply them to users 

Application Lifecycle 

  • Deploy an application via S2I 
  • Create a Route exposing the app to external traffic 
  • Horizontally scale the application 
  • Configure persistent storage 
  • Introduce the internal container registry 
  • Create an ImageStream 

Cluster Logging and Monitoring and Metrics 

  • Install Elasticsearch and Cluster Logging Operators 
  • View and familiarize with logs 
  • Familiarize with monitoring stack (access Prometheus, Alertmanager and Grafana UIs) 

Troubleshooting 

  • Learn investigative tactics using the OC cli (describe, get, edit, etc.) 
  • Practice application rollback to previous working state
