Among chief executives recognized by employees in the U.S., Kavanaugh received an impressive approval rating based on the anonymous and voluntary reviews WWT employees shared on Glassdoor throughout the past year.

“It is an honor to be recognized with this great group of CEOs and it’s especially gratifying to be recognized by Glassdoor,” Jim Kavanaugh, CEO of WWT. “The brutally honest feedback we get from our current and past employees via Glassdoor makes us better. This award and recognition is a direct result of our leaders working diligently with our employees to make WWT a great place to work. I am honored and thankful to receive this but must share this with my leadership team and all our great employees.”

The Glassdoor recognition is the latest in a series of national acknowledgements of WWT as a premier place to work. WWT placed 5th on Glassdoor’s 2017 Best Places to Work and was previously ranked 7th among large companies in the 2017 Best Workplace in Technology list by Great Place to Work and Fortune. PEOPLE’s 2017 Companies that Care list recognized WWT as a leading business in volunteerism and community outreach.

“CEOs tell us the Glassdoor Employees’ Choice Award is one of the highest honors they can receive because it truly reflects employee opinion about the job they do every day. I congratulate all of the winners on this significant honor,” said Robert Hohman, Glassdoor co-founder and CEO. “We know that CEO approval ratings correlate to overall employee satisfaction and trust in senior leadership, which contributes to long-term employee engagement, ultimately helping an employer’s recruiting and retention efforts.”

When employees submit reviews about their company on Glassdoor, they are asked to rate various factors about their employment experience, including their overall satisfaction and other workplace attributes like senior management. As part of these ratings, employees are also asked to rate whether they approve, disapprove or are neutral about the job their CEO is doing.

Among the 700,000 companies reviewed on Glassdoor, the average CEO approval rating is 67 percent.
