Denver Business Journal revealed the top winners and complete rankings in its 2019 Best Places to Work awards at an awards event at TopGolf in Centennial on Friday, June 14.

More than 500 attendees hit balls, enjoyed a little friendly competition, shared food and refreshments, and celebrated the efforts their companies are making to engage employees and maintain a positive corporate culture.

The annual Best Places to Work awards highlight companies in the Denver area whose operations are providing the best workplace environments. And who better to determine which companies rise to the top than the people who know them best: their employees.

Employees for each nominated company were asked to complete the Quantum Workplace employee engagement survey. The survey measures 10 key engagement categories focusing on items including team effectiveness, trust in senior leaders, feeling valued, manager effectiveness, compensation and benefits. In order to gather statistically sound results, companies must reach a minimum level of employee participation, based on total number of employees, to be eligible to be named a finalist.

The 86 finalists were divided into five size categories based on number of employees, and ranked based on their engagement data:

Giant: 250+ employees
Extra-large: 100-249 employees
Large: 50-99 employees
Medium: 25-49 employees
Small: 24 or fewer employees (minimum of 10 required)
