Dell PowerEdge MX7000 Fan Upgrade

This video will show the process of upgrading the fans in the Dell PowerEdge MX7000 Chassis and how to use the Dell Enterprise Infrastructure Planning Tool (EIPT) to view the recommended blade slot placement based on a specific configuration.

About the MX7000 Fan Upgrade:

This upgrade to the 2nd generation fans is required to use a 16th generation or newer PowerEdge server powered by a 4th Generation Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processor.

Minimum Firmware Requirements:

To use the new fans, you much be running at least OpenManage Modular 2.00 and iDRAC 05.10.25/06.10.05 on the blades.

The new fan kits can be ordered using PN: H2YC5/SKU: SKU 750-ADWN

Dell Enterprise Infrastructure Planning Tool:

Use this tool to show you the recommended placement of blades within your MX7000 chassis.
