When I joined the Client Development team back in October, I had a good feeling — but I didn't quite expect just how rewarding and inspiring it would be. Fast forward to now, and I get to lead an amazing group of early-in-career sales professionals. Watching the team grow (both in numbers and confidence!) week after week has been an absolute joy. It's been incredible to see how much of a difference a supportive programme can make — helping people step out of their comfort zones, take the lead, and start seeing their true potential.

Let's rewind a bit…

Before diving into IT sales nearly nine years ago, I had hopped around a few different industries. What drew me to IT was the pace, the growth, and the endless possibilities. I landed a role as a desk-based account manager, with the plan to move into the field eventually. But — plot twist — our hiring manager left the business right after we joined. Yep, it was a bit of a "sink or swim" situation.

Not to mention, I was the only woman on the team, which made things feel a bit isolating at times. But through all the bumps and challenges, I learned the value of resilience, asking for help, and leaning on my network. It wasn't always smooth sailing, but I kept at it.

Enter: WWT

Four years and one big merger later, it was time for something new. Thanks to a recommendation from a former boss, I landed at WWT, joining the MAWI team as a Client Manager. Honestly? It felt like a breath of fresh air.

Sure, sales is tough no matter where you go, but WWT had something special. I felt supported, seen, and empowered. And the cherry on top? My team soon became an all-women sales squad. Being surrounded by smart, driven women was a game-changer — it helped me find my voice, believe in my abilities, and realize how much the right environment can lift you up.

From Seller to Leader

Leadership was always on my radar, so when the opportunity came to support our early-in-career sales team in the UK, I jumped at it. I was excited to move from selling to shaping future sellers, helping others grow in a way I wish I had experienced myself when I started out.

Our Associate Academy and CDA programme are designed to give new sales professionals the tools, space, and mentorship they need to thrive — not just survive. No "thrown in the deep end" vibes here. Just real support, real growth, and real opportunities to learn on the job.

What's Next?

Right now, I'm focused on continuing to coach and develop our fantastic group of CDAs here in the UK, as well as furthering myself as a leader. Leading with purpose, empathy, integrity and clarity. But I've got my eyes on the horizon too. I'd love to see this kind of structure and support expand across our other international teams. With the momentum we're seeing in the UK, I'm confident we're just getting started.

If there's one thing I've learned on this journey, it's that sales is more than just selling. It's about building, leading, inspiring, and growing — together.
