In this lab, we demonstrate the creation of virtual machines using the open-source Kernel-based Virtual Machine (KVM) platform. We implement this virtualization technology in the Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) operating system, one of the most well-known Linux OS used in the IT industry. The lab user will interact with the most recent available RHEL version, version 9.2.
The lab shows the standard RHEL 9.2 user how to turn the RHEL host into a hypervisor. Then, we guide the user into creating virtual machines using the CLI and alternatively with a graphical administration tool, the RHEL Web Console.
