Hi All! My name is Joseph Grate but you can call me Joe. In a nutshell I am a Veteran , Outdoor enthusiast, Data Analyst nerd, proud dad and probably way to passionate about History. Moved around to several locations until my family settled in St. Louis. From there I joined the Marines taking me again around the world after which I came back to St. Louis to start College. Currently living in Western North Carolina close to Asheville. Have worked in several industries and roles from being responsible from a warehouse of US Military weapons, supervising in UPS warehousing, leading internal sales with UPS drivers, to account management with fortune 500 companies managing IT, audit and financial services for their Logisitics departments. Now I'm in WWT's Global Partner Alliance Dept. Received a bachelor's degree at UMSL with a Marketing emphasis and working towards an MBA. SQL Data Analyst level cert. Working on a project with a passionate team has been a highlight experience. I've learned from challenging experiences the power of leadership and what a group can do when I let my ego step aside. One person can do a lot, but a Team can go all the way home. Data has been a prime focus, specifically data analysist. Learning how to understand the nature of data and mastering the tools to control and manage data sets has been a niche allowing me to become successful in my career. Microsoft SQL has been a favorite with Tableau and Power BI as great tools for making interactive data dashboards. Outside of work, I enjoy learning about the mountains around me. I live in the foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains which is part of the ancient Appalachian Mountain range. The rich diverse plant and animal life continues to fascinate and humble me. I'm a history fanatic, especially Native American history. If you want to talk about a history podcast or book, I'm your guy. For the most part you will see me with my family hiking, going on bike rides, or cramped in tent in the woods. But once a year my brain obsesses with Tolkien's world of Middle Earth and it's lore.
