About Matt
I've been working in IT for over 30 years. I've worked in many roles, including Support desk, Consultant, System Admin, System Engineer, Technology Director, and Technical Architect. I've worked with customers and employees, been an individual contributor and managed teams. I worked as an SE for SuSE Linux and VMware. I've managed most components of your typical IT stack at one time or another including desktops, servers, storage, networking WAN's and LANs, firewalls, windows, linux, mac os, virtualization, containers, kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure.
I was the 1st dedicated engineer when the ATC was created and helped to design and implement the foundation of it's infrastructure. For the 1st few years I was doing every thing from racking hardware to configuring application clusters and networking. The ATC has grown from about 7 racks of gear to over 300.
Today, I work with 2 groups of developers to provide a better experience for the users of the ATC. I'm leveraging my knowledge of how the ATC works to help the teams build tools to streamline our processes and improve our responsiveness to our users. We build and maintain dynamic web access to our labs both on-prem and in the cloud. We also build and maintain the tools that help the ATC function, including inventory, requests, and managing the life span of over 14,000 assets we bring in and out of labs regularly.
