About the report
This Sustainability Report outlines World Wide Technology's (WWT) global sustainability initiatives and performance at the parent-company level for the reporting period of January 1 to December 31, 2024.
WWT references widely used standards such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB). We continue to monitor global reporting developments to support transparency and consistency in our disclosures, including emerging frameworks such as the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) under the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Sustainability Disclosure Standards.
A message from our founders
Since our founding in 1990, World Wide Technology has aspired to be the best technology solution provider in the world for our people, customers, partners and communities. Every day, we are guided by our core values, which drive our culture of innovation and outcomes that help make a new world happen. This commitment is also reflected in our Mission — to create a profitable growth company that is also a great place to work for all.
At WWT, we recognize the importance of operating responsibly and are committed to practical sustainability efforts that align with our business priorities. This report provides an overview of our approach, including how we manage key sustainability topics and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver long-term value.
A message from our General Counsel & EVP of Compliance
At World Wide Technology, our commitment to making a new world happen extends beyond innovation and business success — it's about driving meaningful impact for our people, our communities, and our planet.
In 2024, we continued to advance our ESG strategy with intentionality, transparency, and accountability. From deepening our sustainability practices and expanding our skills-based hiring efforts to investing in inclusive growth and strengthening our governance, we are proud of the measurable progress we've made. But we are even more inspired by the opportunities ahead.
This report reflects not only our work but also our values. Thank you to our employees, partners, and stakeholders who make this journey possible. Together, we are building a more sustainable, equitable, and resilient future.
Materiality
In line with recent global standards, WWT conducted a double materiality assessment — a process that identifies and prioritizes sustainability topics based on both their financial impact on a business and the business's broader impact on people and the environment.
As part of this process, we considered our role as a global systems integrator and solutions provider and reviewed relevant industry benchmarks. We also considered stakeholder priorities and insights from WWT executives across the company to align with our business strategy.
While WWT recognizes the importance of ongoing progress across different areas of sustainability, this assessment helped us identify the following material topics within our three pillars:
Customer delight
Customers are key stakeholders in our sustainability journey, and their expectations help shape our approach. As part of this commitment, we engage with our customers to ensure they are delighted with our solutions, services and support.
Reporting
Many customers seek transparency on sustainability topics as they work to meet their goals and commitments across their supply chains. We support these efforts by responding to key industry assessments and information requests, fostering collaboration and strengthening relationships.
CDP: In 2024, WWT was recognized on the CDP Climate A-List. CDP evaluates companies based on the quality of their climate-related disclosures and emissions management approach.
EcoVadis: WWT earned a Silver Medal in 2024, ranking in the top 15 percent of companies across all industries. The EcoVadis assessment evaluates environmental, labor, procurement and ethical business practices.
Sustainability Requests for Information (SRQs): Since 2022, we have responded to over 1,200 sustainability-related customer inquiries.
Audits
Beyond reporting, we assess our operations to meet customer expectations for responsible business practices, following industry standards such as the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA), which outline requirements for labor, ethics, the environment, health and safety, and management systems. We have completed RBA audits at our facilities in the U.S. and the Netherlands and are evaluating future audits at additional global locations. We also ask our suppliers to align with these standards as part of our Supplier Code of Conduct.
Initiatives
In addition to reporting and audits, we collaborate with customers to implement sustainability initiatives that strengthen our partnerships and create shared value, including projects aimed at reducing emissions and advancing responsible use of resources. Read more about our customer initiatives in the Emissions and Waste Management sections of this report.
Planet
A message from our VP, Global Sustainability & EHS
Sustainability and corporate responsibility are all about transitioning from "doing less harm" to "doing more good," — a concept which is at the heart of our WWT's strategy at WWT. Whether it's protecting the environment, caring for our people, or upholding ethical standards and transparent reporting, our commitment to our core values and culture underpins everything we do.
At WWT, we've set ambitious goals aligned with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) to achieve net zero by 2050. We're also focused on reducing waste and water use, two critical factors often overlooked in the global effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. We're proud to be named one of America's Greenest Companies 2025 by Newsweek, recognizing our efforts in environmental sustainability in key areas including greenhouse gas emissions, water management and waste reduction.
In 2024, we achieved an 81 percent waste diversion rate, surpassing our 75 percent target by 2030 ahead of schedule. Additionally, we reached water neutrality 16 years ahead of our 2040 goal, restoring more water than our operations consume through pond restoration projects in India. Our Global Green Teams have increased employee engagement and awareness in WWT offices worldwide through environmental initiatives like tree planting and waste cleanups.
As sustainability becomes increasingly important to our stakeholders, I firmly believe that reliable, comparable, and measurable data — backed by action and evidence — is the catalyst for change. As we progress, so does our understanding of our impact. While we may not always have all the answers, we are committed to applying WWT's spirit of innovation and progress to transparently report our successes, learnings, and areas for improvement. We hope you find this 2025 report valuable.
Environmental governance
WWT's Board of Directors oversees the company's business and affairs. The board has several standing committees, including the Audit & Compliance Committee. The General Counsel and EVP of Compliance provide updates at each board meeting and annual reports to the Audit & Compliance Committee on key compliance topics, including sustainability related matters when relevant.
WWT's sustainability program operates under the Office of the General Counsel. The General Counsel & EVP of Compliance sits on WWT's Executive Leadership Team and is responsible for approving the annual sustainability report and sits on WWT's Executive Leadership Team, ensuring sustainability priorities are integrated into corporate strategy.
The Vice President, Global ESG & EHS, who reports to the General Counsel and is responsible for administering sustainability-related audits, compliance reporting, and emissions calculations, among other key initiatives.
Managing and reducing emissions
Understanding our responsibility to reduce emissions, WWT has set science-based targets, committing to net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across the value chain by 2050, along with the following near-term and long-term targets:.
- Near-term targets: Reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 42 percent by 2030 (from a 2022 baseline) and engage 68 percent of suppliers and customers by emissions, covering purchased goods/services and use of sold products, to set science-based targets by 2028.
- Long-term targets: Reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 90 percent by 2050 and reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions by 90 percent within the same timeframe, both from a 2022 base year.
The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) validated these targets in 2024. WWT was also recognized for the quality of its climate-related disclosures and emissions management approach through inclusion in the 2024 CDP Climate A-List.
WWT's GHG inventory is prepared in accordance with the GHG Protocol and the ISO 14064-1:2006 standard. The Financial Control Approach is used to determine WWT's organizational boundary. While a slight increase in emissions is expected in 2024 (pending third-party limited assurance), WWT remains committed to implementing initiatives that support its emission reduction targets.
Scope 1 & 2 emissions
WWT continues to enhance energy efficiency and expand its use of renewable energy to reduce emissions from fuel use (Scope 1) and purchased electricity (Scope 2).
Operational improvements have already contributed to energy savings, including the use of energy-efficient certified equipment across global facilities and the implementation of automatic power-off scheduling for digital display screens that reduce unnecessary electricity consumption. In 2024, one of our North American Integration Centers received the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) 360 certification, which, among other areas, evaluates practices related to building energy management, energy system maintenance, and occupant energy awareness.
Additionally, WWT finalized an agreement to source 14 percent of the electricity used at its owned properties in the U.S. from renewable sources, with implementation beginning in 2025. WWT has also engaged a third-party advisor to assess decarbonization strategies and identify additional energy reduction initiatives.
Scope 3 emissions
Another important area of WWT's emissions reduction strategy is Scope 3 emissions, which accounts for over 99 percent of our total emissions and includes key categories of indirect emissions such as purchased goods/services and the use of sold products.
WWT continues to expand and strengthen its supplier engagement program, which in 2024 reached nearly 90 percent of key suppliers by spend. We work with suppliers to improve the accuracy of emissions data and participate in the exchange of sustainability best practices. Many of our suppliers have already committed to net-zero emissions, aligning with WWT's near-term target to engage suppliers in setting science-based climate targets.
WWT also collaborates with customers on sustainability initiatives that create shared value. For example, we worked with a major financial services customer to estimate the transportation emissions avoided by replacing wooden pallets with reusable transit cases, thus optimizing shipment space and reducing the number of shipments. We further support customer goals by participating in key sustainability assessments (read more in the Customer Delight section of this report).
Another way WWT addresses Scope 3 emissions is through sustainable transportation initiatives. WWT is a registered partner of the U.S. EPA's SmartWay program, which promotes the reduction of freight transport emissions. In the Netherlands, WWT launched a mobility program that provides employees with public transportation cards. Moreover, through one of our Global Green Teams — employee-led sustainability interest groups — WWT organized a 'Bike to Work' day to promote more sustainable commuting practices.
Waste Management & Sustainable Products
WWT is committed to implementing waste reduction solutions and supporting the responsible management of product end-of-life, in line with regulatory requirements and in collaboration with our partners across the value chain.
Reducing Operational Waste
WWT has set a goal to divert 75 percent of solid waste from landfills by 2030, measured as the percentage of waste diverted from landfills out of total waste (actual or estimated) collected at our owned or leased facilities. Based on preliminary 2024 data (pending third-party assurance), WWT has achieved an estimated 81 percent diversion rate in 2024, surpassing our target ahead of schedule. A number of initiatives contributed to this milestone and represent scalable best practices that can be adapted across WWT locations based on local context and infrastructure.
WWT prioritizes the use of reusable packaging and, where possible, reuses or recycles packaging materials removed from our facilities. For example, we have introduced transit cases that can be reused in place of wooden pallets, which are often discarded after a single use. In the U.S. and the Netherlands, we implemented waste-handling programs across facilities, introducing standardized recycling bins and expanding waste categories to improve the sorting and recovery of plastics, batteries and other recyclable materials.
Partnerships with external organizations have further enhanced our waste diversion efforts. At our North American Integration Center (NAIC), specialized equipment is used to compact foam on-site, which is then repurposed by a third party into new products. In the U.S., we also partnered with a certified e-waste recycler to responsibly process electronics, generating over $30,000 in proceeds that were donated to charitable organizations. In Costa Rica, 184 pounds of collected plastic were used by a partner organization to create RESIN8 — a material that can be used as an additive in construction applications.
Employee engagement activities through WWT's Global Green Teams have also played a key role in promoting waste awareness and action globally. These included new employee waste management training in Costa Rica, waste cleanup campaigns in multiple countries, including a waterway cleanup in the Netherlands and a cleanup drive in Singapore, and employee-led collection events in the U.S., which resulted in the proper disposal of 81 pounds of plastic and 1,200 pounds of e-waste.
Product Responsibility
To navigate varied product regulations across countries, regions, and product types such as electrical and electronic equipment and batteries, WWT maintains a structured regulatory reporting process, with annual, biannual, quarterly, and monthly submissions. In 2024, we completed more than 200 compliance submissions and audits and secured new regulatory registrations across key markets.
To meet both current and emerging obligations, WWT proactively collaborates with our suppliers, who are the original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), to gather essential product and material data, including chemical disclosures and packaging information. We are also working with suppliers to explore sustainable product-related solutions, such as alternatives to traditional packaging.
For responsible management of product end-of-life, WWT collaborates with partners to comply with Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulations, which require companies to finance the collection and recycling of packaged products, and we also support OEM take-back and trade-in programs.
Water & Biodiversity
Water
While our direct water use is limited to employee consumption and landscaping, we recognize the growing importance of water management. This commitment is reflected in our 'B' score for Water Security from CDP and other initiatives.
In 2024, WWT achieved water neutrality—16 years ahead of our 2040 goal—by restoring more water than our operations consume through pond restoration projects in India. These projects support groundwater recharge and improve water resources for local communities.
Biodiversity
WWT recognizes the importance of biodiversity for healthy ecosystems and resilient communities. Our pond restoration projects in India considered local biodiversity aspects by introducing native aquatic plant species and bird nesting islands. We have also supported tree-planting initiatives, including the planting of 2,900 mango saplings across villages in Maharashtra, India, which are expected to benefit both local farmers and surrounding ecosystems. Additionally, WWT's Global Green Teams engage in nature-based initiatives, such as tree-planting using locally appropriate species, while also promoting biodiversity awareness among employees.

Working conditions
WWT's policy is to protect and enhance the human dignity of every person who works for our company. Our employees and non-employee workers around the world are treated with dignity and fairness.
WWT is also committed to adhering to all labor standards, including, without limitation, nondiscrimination in hiring and the workplace; voluntary labor; no child labor; compliance with fair working hours and applicable wage laws; and upholding the standards of safe and healthy workplaces.
Employee communication
All employees are invited to join CEO Jim Kavanaugh and the executive team for a semi-annual interactive corporate update meeting, conducted in person and through teleconferencing. These sessions provide employees with information about the company's financial position and major accomplishments, as well as short- and long-term organizational goals.
Employees are also encouraged to attend listening sessions. These sessions are opportunities for small groups of employees to connect and share their perspectives with executive leadership. The topics are based on employee feedback and include important aspects of WWT's culture and the employee experience.
Compensation and benefits
To ensure fair compensation throughout the entire organization, WWT monitors compensation as a normal business practice with business units and functions. The well-being of WWT employees is also essential, so when it comes to our benefits package, WWT has one of the best. Learn more about our Employee Benefits.
Employee wellness
WWT continues to go above and beyond to recognize its employees' health and wellness. Employees have access to healthcare and health management programs to improve personal health and wellness.
WWT provides two on-site Family Health Centers, one located in St. Louis and one in Edwardsville, IL, which offer primary care, urgent care, mental health counseling and disease management consulting at no cost to employees or their families.
The company also offers a free, confidential Employee Assistance Program that enables employees to work with trained counselors who can provide personalized support for emotional, family, financial and legal issues. A mobile app that integrates with the Employee Assistance Program is also available to employees and family members. This app offers evidence-based learning and skill-building programs focused on mental health and wellness.
Flexible and remote working
When employees have a choice over how, where, and when they work, engagement, productivity and innovation thrive. We strive to give our employees that choice and flexibility, depending on their job function and management approval.
Our employees can choose from many different spaces to work in, including private workstations, open collaboration areas, coffee nooks and stand desks. In addition, we have technology that enables flexible working, including high-speed wireless access, a wide variety of video devices, and social software platforms that promote community connections and collaboration.
WWT supports remote working environments and aims to give our employees the best possible experience. Remote employees and teams are given the tools they need to collaborate and innovate as high-performing teams.
Employee development
At WWT, we're committed to supporting employee growth through accessible, purpose-driven development opportunities. From onboarding to leadership, our programs — like the Pathway Experience, Next Generation Leadership Program, and our yearly Integrated Management and Leadership (IML) reinforcement series — help employees build skills, connect across the business, network, and grow their careers. With tools like the Career Compass, we empower every team member to navigate their journey and contribute to making WWT a great place to work for all.
Employee safety
We maintain a comprehensive, corporate-wide occupational health and safety compliance assurance program based on global regulatory requirements, industry standards and best practices to provide a safe and injury-free workplace for our employees.
Health and safety training helps employees understand their safety responsibilities and covers information needed for specific jobs (such as ergonomics and electrical safety). Additionally, we continually work to build a Safety Always Culture through focused analysis of incident history, workplace safety inspection results and employee engagement to determine actions necessary to improve performance. This information is reviewed and actions are determined during regularly scheduled safety steering committee meetings that include representation from executive management and all affected areas of the company.
Our Occupational Health and Safety Program includes:
- Continuous assessment of occupational health and safety risks
- Training and promotional activities to raise employee safety awareness
- Thorough investigation of incidents to determine root causes and take actions to prevent recurrence
As in prior years, all our metrics were within our target ranges for 2024. WWT continues to work to reduce incidents year over year.
- TICR/TIR: Defined as the number of work-related injuries per 100 full-time employees during a one-year period.
- LWCR: Lost Work Case Rate is similar to the TICR/TIR but only counts the number of cases in which employees actually lost work.
- DART: Days Away, Restricted or Transferred only includes injuries that resulted in some type of time away from their regular tasks or a modification of their tasks.
- EMR: Experience Modification Rate is a number used to gauge both the cost of insurance and future chances of risk.
Communities
CSR India
As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives in India, WWT supports projects that create meaningful impact and promote sustainable development in underserved communities across the country.
As part of these efforts, WWT has helped establish 11 libraries in government schools across the Indian states of Karnataka and Telangana since 2021, enhancing educational opportunities for more than 4,000 children. In 2024, the Mathikere Government School Library in Bengaluru, Karnataka, was established along with a donation of nearly 18,000 books to promote STEM education and literacy. Covering a diverse range of subjects, these books aim to spark intellectual curiosity and a lifelong love for learning.
WWT continues to explore new initiatives to support rural communities in India. For example, an upcoming project in Maharashtra will introduce sustainable solutions to improve daily life and economic resilience for local villagers; these include energy-efficient cookstoves to reduce indoor air pollution and deforestation, along with other enhancements that expand access to clean energy and economic opportunities. This project, along with others in development, reflects WWT's commitment to fostering long-term, sustainable solutions in underserved communities.
Global Community Impact team
Our Global Community Impact (GCI) program was built around serving the community, our business and our employees. We focus on career readiness (STEM education and workforce development), human services (social justice and basic needs), and health and wellness (physical and mental health).
Each WWT employee receives a "Day of Caring" — eight hours of paid volunteer time off that must be taken during an employee's normal work hours, in four- or eight-hour increments. This volunteer time must be for a registered nonprofit organization. Every year, teams across the globe plan and participate in volunteer activities to give back to and create a positive impact in their communities.
Through our signature programs, WWT nurtures the next generation by investing in STEM-focused education, internships and work-based learning opportunities. For example, our STEM Student Forum challenges high school teams to create solutions for their school's or communities' unique needs. In 2024, the program included 18 local high schools with 160 participating students. More than 60 volunteers contributed more than 700 hours, including 38 WWT mentors, both in-person and virtually, who supported each school's team.

Responsible business
Ethics and compliance
Honesty and integrity are key elements of WWT's core values. These values are reflected in our Code of Conduct, which covers a wide range of topics, including but not limited to anti-corruption, anti-bribery, conflicts of interest and trade compliance. The Code applies to all directors, officers and employees of WWT and its subsidiaries, as well as anyone authorized to act on behalf of WWT.
WWT employees receive training and reaffirm their individual accountability for upholding our Code of Conduct and following all applicable laws, regulations and company policies every year. In addition, WWT employees participate in group leadership meetings that foster dialogue and activities focused on our core values, corporate vision and mission.
WWT has also established an Ethics and Compliance Program, with the Board of Directors providing ethical leadership and general oversight of the program's implementation and effectiveness. The Chief Compliance Officer, who chairs the Ethics and Compliance Council, is responsible for overall executive management of the program and its implementation. The Chief Compliance Officer also provides the Board and senior management with timely, accurate information to support informed decisions on the program and WWT's compliance with the law.
Compliance concern reporting
Employees are encouraged to first raise issues with their direct line manager or to use the Ethics & Compliance Helpline to report any concerns or grievances. This reporting tool is available to all employees in all countries where WWT operates, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Helpline also provides multilingual reporting options in 15 languages.
Reports can be made anonymously and are kept confidential as permitted by law. Our non-retaliation policy specifically prohibits adverse action against employees who report suspected violations of law or company policy.
Helpline reports are initially reviewed to determine the authority or team best suited to investigate (e.g., Legal Counsel, Human Resources, etc.). All reports are then routed to this team and to the General Counsel. The team follows an established process for resolving compliance concerns that require corrective actions, such as disciplinary action, training and/or internal control improvements. All reported incidents are documented and tracked in a secure, limited-access central database compliant with local laws.
Risk & resilience management
WWT's Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program is a key process within the company's corporate governance structure. It is designed to identify and manage risks across the organization. Based on ISO 31000 principles, the ERM program provides a structured approach to anticipating, assessing, prioritizing and mitigating risks that could have a material impact on WWT's ability to achieve its strategic objectives. The program considers internal and external risks across compliance, reporting, operations and strategic goals.
Climate risks
WWT is updating its climate-related risk assessment and conducting a climate-risk scenario analysis following global standards and emerging regulatory requirements. This ongoing effort ensures our risk management practices remain adaptive and support long-term resilience.
Business continuity
WWT recognizes that certain uncontrollable events, such as storms, natural disasters, blackouts or intentional acts, may cause disruptions of varying degrees to normal business operations and processes. WWT's Business Continuity Program is designed to enable it to minimize exposure to reasonably foreseeable threats and risks, maintain the security of assets, and enhance its ability to restore business operations in a timely manner.
WWT takes an "All Hazards" best practices approach to continuity, addressing and mitigating disruptions based on their impacts on facilities, workforce, supply chain and information technology. WWT Business Continuity, Crisis Management and IT Disaster Recovery plans are reviewed and tested annually.
WWT's ability to recover its critical functions quickly and efficiently is enhanced by a mirrored backup recovery site, enabling those departments to resume functioning within hours of any disaster. An Active-Active environment for cloud-based applications, as well as redundant internet configurations at critical sites, means WWT is well equipped to maintain IT operations. WWT's global presence ensures that business operations can continue, despite local and regional impacts.
Data protection
WWT is committed to protecting data across its operations through a multi-layered security strategy, maintaining the fundamental principles of confidentiality, integrity and availability. Our policies and approach integrate industry best practices, regulatory requirements and continuous monitoring to safeguard company, employee and customer information.
WWT has developed and implemented a robust User Awareness and Training program that educates users about the importance of information security and safeguards against data loss, misuse or breaches through physical, logical and social engineering mechanisms. For example, development staff who are involved in developing applications and source code for customers are required to complete training at least every two years.
WWT protects against threats, intentional and unintentional, and constantly adapts to evolving security risks to ensure that data protection measures remain resilient and responsive to emerging threats. To support this, WWT maintains compliance with key industry standards, including incorporating the principles of ISO 27001, full adherence to ISO 20243, SOC 1 and SOC 2 (Type 2) audits, and bi-annual risk assessments of internal supply chain operations using NIST 800-171 as a security control framework.

Supply chain risk management (SCRM)
The mission of the WWT SCRM Program is to cultivate a world-class supply chain risk management program by identifying, assessing, mitigating, communicating and monitoring supply chain risks and integrating them into WWT's business operations to protect our clients, suppliers, employees and shareholders.
The WWT SCRM process is embedded within the ERM program. Through a risk identification and assessment process, a comprehensive risk registry is maintained, and key risk information is communicated to our Corporate Compliance Council, Senior Leadership and the company's Board of Directors.
WWT's SCRM framework starts with customer needs, regulations and industry standards and is tailored to guarantee flexibility as those needs evolve. Regular reviews and assurance activities promote cross-business learning and continuous improvement.
