Event Overview

In the past, only a chosen few public sector agencies and enterprises – those with deep pockets and the most advanced data and analytics requirements – had access to high-performance computing (HPC) solutions. Today, data lives everywhere. HPC has become integral to doing business – from predicting hurricanes and delivering clean water to manufacturing safe, efficient vehicles and developing and executing COVID vaccines and clinical trials. How do public sector entities integrate HPC into legacy infrastructures in a timely, cost-efficient manner without creating silos? What role do Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and the edge play in deploying the infrastructure needed to solve today's and tomorrow's most complex problems? This episode offers insight into these and other questions about HPC in the public sector.

Featured Speakers

Earl Dodd

World Wide Technology

HPC Architect and Alchemist

I provide HPC/HPDA/Supercomputing strategy, technology enablement and business development to WWT's global enterprises and governments. I help achieve a customer's desired ROI by leveraging HPC technology, extreme data in motion, and the Cloud on secure ultra-scale architectures and collaboration environments. This effort drives the next generation of computationally steered workflows in decision support environments for real-time situational awareness and institutional learning.
Kent Kamischke

Hewlett Packard Enterprise

Manager, Federal HPC Solution Architects

Kent's support for the field of HPC began with writing computer programs designed to simulate the reactor core in a nuclear power plant, to train commercial nuclear power plant operators, and then Navy Nuclear engineers. Kent has a Master's in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Michigan. He supports customers across much of the Public Sector. His passion for HPC comes from working with the finest customers in the nation to solve some of the hardest problems in the world.

Goals and Objectives

After viewing this episode, you will understand more about why HPC is integral to the success of public sector agencies and departments, the latest advances in HPC, how to incorporate HPC into legacy operating environments, and how to create fully-integrated fusion computing solutions that bring together HPC, AI, IoT, and the edge to best address functional and performance requirements across public sector programs.

Who should attend?

Public sector IT and HPC professionals that are looking to learn about emerging technologies and drivers shaping the future of government. This series is geared towards those developing and executing solutions that address the unique challenges faced by government agencies. In this case, a focus on HPC, along with AI, IoT, and the Edge.
