World Wide Technology (WWT) has unveiled a new way for customers to buy and use software.

The solution provider giant said the new EA+ program guides enterprise customers through the purchase process - from initial purchase, to implementation, to renewal - of software.

WWT argues that as businesses grow, it can become more difficult for them to manage their software footprint. Employees see problems, such as not receiving the right tools they need, which can lead to an increase in shadow IT, or software going underutilized, the solution provider said.

It noted that EA+ customers get access to WWT's $150 million dedicated test environment and Advanced Technology Center, where they can evaluate the software from the likes of Cisco, Microsoft, Dell EMC, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, NetApp, VMware and F5 before rolling it out.

WWT will also hold EA+ Business Value Workshops to determine whether particular software aligns to the company's business strategy, and after purchase, it will offer a series of EA+ Vision Workshops to map out how those enterprise agreements can be best used fully within the organization.
