In this case study

Our partnership with NPower spans over a decade and seeks to help launch the careers for military veterans and young adults from under-resourced communities by providing these groups with training, professional development, internships, mock interviews and job placement assistance. The relationship is key to WWT's long-term viability and competitiveness in the global marketplace.

NPower envisions a future where our domestic technology workforce is diverse, and clear pathways exist for all people regardless of ethnicity, gender, or socio-economic background to succeed in our digital economy.

Our strategic partnership centers around our passion to develop future leaders using Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) as the platform. Our affiliation with NPower has resulted in hiring over 50 graduates as interns, apprentices and full-time employees.

"NPower is so much more than a nonprofit program for individuals in underserved communities, said Charlotte, an NPower graduate and WWT employee. It is a network for people who are passionate about building brighter futures through IT fundamentals and concept trainings, professional skills, mentoring, internships, and most importantly job placement."

Strategic alignment and volunteer engagement

WWT's Global Community Impact program strives to promote and support philanthropy that generates economic, social and financial outcomes. The program focuses on three pillars of impact — career readiness, human services, and health and wellness. NPower helps advance these areas by providing:

  • STEM Education
  • Workforce Development
  • Leadership Development

Diversity is critical to our success

Our partnership with NPower is a key initiative within our broader Diversity & Inclusion program, which seeks to drive shared value across our people, business and community. When we invest in our communities, we enable them to prosper and produce a stream of talent that would otherwise not be available for WWT to benefit from.
