Rama Kukkadapu is a Cloud Architect on WWT's multicloud team and was recently selected as an Amazon Web Services (AWS) Amazon Partner Network (APN) Ambassador, one of a select few in the world. We sat down with Rama to gain further insight on what exactly an AWS APN Ambassador does, how it can affect engagement with customers and how his roles impacts WWT.
Q&A With Rama
What does an AWS APN ambassador do?
The APN Ambassador Program is a community of technical experts in the AWS Partner Network (APN) Consulting Partner community. APN Ambassadors are passionate about sharing their AWS technical expertise through public presentations, open-source projects and social media. APN Ambassadors possess multiple AWS certifications as well as in-depth AWS knowledge. As an APN Consulting Partner representative, we work closely with AWS Solution Architects to migrate, design, implement and monitor AWS workloads.
How did you become involved in this?
As part of our annual objective and key results (OKR) process, I was encouraged by my manager Sean Doyle to pursue this APN Ambassador status. While delivering client projects, I have put additional effort and time into claiming certifications, writing case studies and building digital content in AWS cloud technologies.
How will being an AWS APN ambassador help you when engaging on customer projects?
The right knowledge is the ultimate solution to all our problems. Having in-depth knowledge of different AWS tools and services before solving customer problems and challenges is the key to my success. The AWS APN Ambassador program helped to unearth my technical boundaries and presentation skill sets to the next level. I can deliver AWS Cloud Projects with this technical skillset with optimal outcomes.
How has your role at WWT prepared you to be an AWS APN ambassador?
My current role is to deliver AWS Cloud solutions to different clients as well as build service offerings. Preparing for AWS Certifications, writing case studies, delivering AWS Immersion days and leading technical presentations are also part of my role.
