Re:Lax was a collaborative effort between Senior Software Engineer Mark Sands and Senior Software Engineer James Rantanen.

Re:Lax was born out of an R&D effort to unlock the full potential of the tvOS platform. Parallax is a visual affordance that tvOS uses to emphasize focus with the Siri Remote and reduce friction as the user moves between focusable elements. When we learned that Apple's Parallax support was very limited to developers, so we sought out to reverse engineer both the programmatic effect and the proprietary image format.

Re:Lax provides a way to create parallax effects at runtime, eliminating latency for the users of your app and server-side support required to generate parallax images. It provides ways to create custom parallax effects to any programmatic view as well as the ability to generate a parallax LCR file at runtime.
