AWS Summit Los Angeles 2026: Building Without Limits in the Age of Agentic AI
The Keynote: Why Not Make Every Idea Possible?

We sent 13 people to Los Angeles on June 10 and the keynote was the first thing on the agenda. Deepak Singh, AWS VP of Developer Agents and Experiences, ran it - and the framing he opened with set the tone for the entire day: Why not make every idea possible? It sounds like a marketing line until you see everything AWS is building behind it.
What the Keynote Was Really About
The headline theme was agentic AI - autonomous systems that can reason, plan, and actually execute work. Singh organized it around three practical questions that most organizations are wrestling with right now: How do you empower your developers to build faster? How do you modernize the workloads you're already running? And how do you keep all of it secure?
Those aren't new questions. What's new is that AWS now has specific answers for each one - and those answers are getting closer to production-ready, not just demo-ready.
Empower Developers
Agentic tools like Kiro are changing how software gets built. Singh framed this as a shift from developers writing code to developers directing agents.
Modernize Workloads
AWS's continuous modernization tools - scanning codebases, flagging debt, proposing fixes - change the economics of legacy work. You don't have to do it all at once.
Secure Organizations
AWS Continuum is built on the idea that security at human speed isn't fast enough anymore. Machines need to close the loop as threats accelerate.
The Customer Story That Stood Out
The NFL's partnership with AWS was front and center in the keynote. The Next Gen Stats team has been building with AWS for years - tracking player movement data, running ML models, publishing analytics. NFL IQ takes all of that and makes it accessible to fans through Amazon Quick, an agentic AI workspace.
Instead of navigating dashboards, fans ask questions in plain language and get answers drawn from the same data the front offices use. It's a clean example of what agentic AI looks like when it's working -- not a chatbot bolted onto existing tools, but agents with real access to real data doing actual work. Deepak Singh shared this one personally from the stage.
What AWS Shipped
Amazon Bedrock AgentCore is now generally available -- and it was the big practical announcement. AgentCore is AWS's answer to the gap between a working AI pilot and something you can actually run in production. A lot of organizations have prototypes that work great in a demo. Getting them to run reliably at scale, inside real security and compliance requirements, is where things have historically broken down. AgentCore is built to close that gap.

Stand up production-grade AI agents through code-based configuration instead of building from scratch. Faster to deploy, easier to maintain, and a lot less risky than custom builds.
Bedrock Managed Knowledge Base
Plug your existing data into an AI pipeline without custom engineering. Native connectors to S3, SharePoint, Confluence, and Google Drive, with retrieval built for complex multi-step queries.
AWS Context
Builds a knowledge graph from the data you already have -- databases, documents, internal systems -- and makes it available to every agent in your environment. Agents get smarter over time rather than starting from zero each time.
AWS Continuum
AI-native security that finds vulnerabilities, tests which ones are actually exploitable, ranks them by business impact, and drives remediation through your existing processes. Every action is auditable before you commit.
Two more worth knowing about:
1. Kiro for iOS — Manage agentic coding sessions and review pull requests from your phone. Reflects how development work is becoming continuous rather than desk-bound.
2. AWS Transform: Continuous Modernization — Scans codebases, finds technical debt, and opens pull requests to address it on an ongoing basis -- changing the economics of legacy modernization work.
The Honest Takeaway From The Floor
Last year the question was whether AI agents could do real work. This year it was about what happens once they do. That's a real shift. AWS isn't positioning these as experimental tools anymore -- they're shipping GA releases, publishing production patterns, and building the governance layer in from the start. The organizations moving now are going to have a real head start.
