WWT was on the ground at AWS Summit New York 2026. Here is what the biggest AI announcements mean for your business and how WWT can help you act on them.

The AWS (Amazon Web Services) Summit in New York City brought together thousands of cloud and AI (artificial intelligence) leaders for one of the most energizing events of the year. The announcements were bold, the conversations were honest and the message from AWS was clear: agentic AI is no longer on the horizon. It is here, and the organizations moving now are the ones that will lead.

World Wide Technology (WWT) was proud to be on the ground in New York. Our team spent the day with customers, partners and AWS leaders talking through what these capabilities mean in practice. Here is what stood out and why it matters for your business.

The keynote set the tone: From AI exploration to AI action

Swami Sivasubramanian, AWS VP of Agentic AI, opened the keynote with a message that resonated across every conversation we had that day. We are in a new era. AI agents can now act, decide and work on behalf of your organization. The question is no longer whether to adopt AI. The question is how to do it well. At WWT, that message matches what we hear from customers every day. Teams have run the pilots. They have seen what AI can do. Now they want to move from experimentation to production. The announcements from AWS this week give them real tools to do exactly that.

Amazon Bedrock AgentCore: enterprise AI that is ready for production

The biggest cluster of announcements centered on Amazon Bedrock AgentCore. These capabilities are designed to make enterprise AI agents more capable, more secure and easier to manage at scale.

The Amazon Bedrock Managed Knowledge Base was one of the most practical announcements of the day. Organizations can now build AI pipelines that pull from their own data using native connectors, intelligent parsing for multiple file types and a multi-step retrieval system for complex queries. All of this runs without managing the underlying infrastructure.

For customers who have been asking how to connect their proprietary data to AI in a secure and scalable way, this is a meaningful step forward.

Web Search on Amazon Bedrock AgentCore solves another common challenge. AI agents now have access to current, real-world information without data leaving the AWS environment. That matters for organizations in regulated industries where data boundaries are not optional.

The Amazon Bedrock AgentCore Harness also reached general availability. Teams can now stand up production-grade AI agents in minutes, configured through code rather than built from scratch. That kind of speed and reliability changes what is possible for enterprise teams with real delivery timelines.

WWT is already working with customers to map these capabilities to their existing cloud and AI strategies. If you have been waiting for enterprise-ready AI tools, the wait is over.

AI-powered security: moving from alerts to action

Security was a major theme at the Summit and AWS raised the bar with two significant announcements.

AWS Continuum is a new security platform that takes findings from across your environment, ranks them by actual business impact and validates which vulnerabilities are genuinely exploitable before driving remediation through your existing processes. This is security at machine speed and it changes what is possible for security operations teams.

The AWS Security Agent, which is part of AWS Continuum, adds threat modeling, code scanning with automated fixes and IDE (integrated development environment) integrations through tools like Claude Code. Developers can now find and fix security issues without leaving their working environment.

For WWT, these announcements reinforce a direction we have been guiding customers toward for some time. Security needs to be built into every step of the development lifecycle. These tools make that practical, not just aspirational.

Developer productivity: from idea to deployed application, faster

For development teams, AWS delivered tools designed to reduce the time between writing an idea and shipping it to production.

Kiro for iOS is now in preview and gives developers the ability to start, monitor and guide agentic development sessions from a mobile device. Reviewing code changes and approving work without needing a laptop open is a genuinely new kind of workflow.

AWS DevOps Agent now handles release management, including autonomous release testing and change assessments before anything reaches production. Combined with AWS Transform's continuous modernization capability, which scans codebases and automatically generates pull requests to address technical debt, development teams have a clear path to faster, cleaner delivery.

These are tools our customers ask about. How do we move faster without adding risk? AWS answered that question this week.

Amazon S3 Annotations: smarter data for AI agents

One announcement that deserves attention from data and architecture teams is Amazon S3 Annotations. Organizations can now attach up to one gigabyte of rich, queryable context directly to S3 objects. This capability is built specifically for AI agents that need to discover, understand and act on data at scale.

For enterprises with large data estates, this removes the need for a separate metadata management layer. AI agents can work with richer, more contextual data right where it lives. WWT sees this as a foundational capability for organizations building serious agentic applications.

What we heard from customers and partners

Some of the most valuable moments at the Summit happened in conversations on the floor and between sessions. Customers at every stage of the cloud journey showed up with real questions.

Organizations early in their cloud adoption wanted to understand where to start. Established customers were ready to go deeper on AI. Partners were building the solutions that will define this next wave of innovation.

The consistent message across all of those conversations was simple. Organizations want to move faster, reduce complexity and work with a partner who can help them navigate the choices. Not just a vendor who hands them a roadmap, but a team that will do the work with them.

"The energy in New York this week was different from previous years. Customers are not asking if they should be doing this. They are asking how to do it right, and they want to do it now." — WWT AWS Practice Lead

That is exactly the conversation WWT is built for. We bring cloud architecture, AI strategy, security expertise and deep AWS partnership together in one team. Learn more about WWT's AWS practice. We do not just advise. We build.

Why WWT at events like this matters

Being present at the AWS Summit is not just about learning what is new. It is about bringing that knowledge directly into our customer conversations.

Our team returned from New York with a clear picture of what AWS is building, how the roadmap aligns with what our customers need and where WWT can create real value in the months ahead. We carry that into every architecture review, every AI workshop and every customer engagement. The road ahead

The AWS Summit New York 2026 confirmed what we have been seeing in the market. The organizations that are winning are the ones that have moved from strategy to execution. They have made the foundational investments. They are using AI in production. And they are building the operating models that will allow them to scale.

If your organization is ready to take that next step, WWT is ready to help. Whether that means designing an agentic AI strategy, standing up a secure AWS environment or modernizing an aging application portfolio, we have done this work before and we know how to do it well.
