Fueling Future Growth
At WWT, Business Development isn't just about landing the next big deal—it's about building long-term value, developing talent, and shaping the future of our organization. As a Business Development Manager, my role is centered around identifying opportunities that align with our strategic goals and ensuring we maximize the commercial and financial impact of every partnership.
But one of the most rewarding parts of my job? Spotting rising stars and helping them shine.
Recognizing Potential: Meet MG
When I first met Mary Grace Rosenberg (MG), her background was firmly rooted in finance—specifically in the investment world. Sharp, driven, and endlessly curious, she had all the raw talent we look for in Business Development. While she didn't have a traditional Business Development resume, I saw something even more valuable: adaptability and hunger to grow.
So, I pitched her on a new idea—joining the WWT Associate Academy.
The Academy Advantage
The Associate Academy is a developmental launchpad for future leaders. It's a structured, immersive program that equips participants with the technical, strategic, and cultural knowledge they need to thrive at WWT. It's not just about learning the ropes; it's about learning how to think like a high performer at WWT.
MG dove in headfirst.
She attended Academy sessions while also shadowing me and other members of our Business Development team working with Global Financials. This combo of hands-on learning and structured education helped her hit the ground running—and never look back.
Onboarding to Impact
Watching MG grow from a new hire into a confident, strategic contributor has been one of my proudest moments. She not only embraced the Academy's curriculum, but also built strong relationships across WWT—connecting with mentors, peers, and leaders who continue to support her journey (and also became good friends along the way).
By the time she graduated, MG had a solid grasp on the business—and more importantly, how she could contribute to our team's success.
What's Next for MG?
Now, MG is helping drive growth in our Capital Markets segment, working alongside account teams to develop strategic proposals and support high-value deals. She's applying her finance expertise in new and creative ways—building out custom financial modeling templates to streamline how we approach opportunity pursuits and contract work.
Her next chapter includes:
- Gaining deeper exposure to active Global Financial opportunities
- Continuing to sharpen her deal strategies, financial modeling, and commercial skills
- Expanding our presence in GES through collaboration and innovation
In short: she's just getting started, and I'm excited to support her every step of the way.
Final Thought
At WWT, we talk a lot about building a stronger future. That future doesn't just come from great deals—it comes from great people. MG's story is a perfect example of what happens when talent meets opportunity. I'm proud to have been part of her journey and can't wait to see where she goes next.
