WWT and Tanium at Converge 2025: Autonomous IT & Unstoppable Partnership
In this blog
At Tanium Converge 2025, WWT presented itself as a trusted strategic partner, award-winning integrator and hands-on practitioner, helping customers turn Tanium's Autonomous IT vision into real outcomes. From customer meetings and executive sessions to recognition on the main stage, WWT's message was clear: together, WWT and Tanium help organizations move from reactive firefighting to real-time, AI-driven risk management.
Kate Kuehn of WWT took to the stage with one of our public sector customers to discuss the power of partnership and how we are driven to solve customer problems built on trusted relationships across people, processes and technology.
At Tanium's Global Partner Awards during Converge, WWT was named Public Sector Growth Partner of the Year, highlighting rapid expansion and measurable impact across government and education customers. In addition, WWT's Chris Schwind received the Partner Champion of the Year award, recognizing his leadership in evangelizing Tanium, building joint solutions and driving adoption inside both WWT and our shared customers.
Throughout the conference, WWT teams met with customers, listened to their challenges and showcased how our partnership with Tanium delivers real-world solutions. A highlight was the executive session, "The Executive Mandate for Real-Time Risk Management," presented by Kate and Chris, which focused on how boards, CIOs, and CISOs are shifting from static, report-based risk views to continuous, telemetry-driven decision-making.
The session connected Tanium's real-time data with WWT's experience designing risk programs, emphasizing that you cannot manage what you cannot see—and you cannot reduce risk if you cannot act quickly on what you see. Real-time risk management is not optional, and WWT, combined with Tanium, provides a pragmatic approach to achieving it.
Top 5 announcements from Tanium Converge 2025—and what they mean for customers
Tanium's 2025 announcements signal a bold transition to "Autonomous IT," powered by Agentic AI and deep ecosystem integrations. Tanium's new tag line of "Autonomous IT. Unstoppable Business." is focused on using Agent AI to remove manual friction from IT and security workflows, allowing systems to "self-heal" and operators to work at superhuman speed, putting AI into action.
Here are the top five announcements at Tanium Converge and the outcomes they drive:
1. Tanium Ask (Agentic AI)
This was the headline innovation of the conference. Tanium Ask is a natural-language interface ("Agentic AI") embedded directly into the platform. It allows operators to query their environment, summarize dashboards, and trigger complex workflows using plain English rather than writing scripts or navigating complex menus. Tanium's advancements in agentic AI are poised to revolutionize autonomous endpoint management, offering organizations intelligent solutions that enhance operational efficiency and security.
Tanium Ask (Agent AI) empowers the following outcomes:
- Faster MTTR: Faster troubleshooting, reduced manual processes, improved operational efficiency and multilingual support for global teams.
- Democratization of Expertise: Reduces the technical barrier to entry, allowing junior analysts to perform complex investigations and remediations that previously required senior engineers.
2. Expansion into Operational Technology (OT)
Tanium announced native endpoint management for OT environments, extending visibility to devices like Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs). This moves Tanium beyond traditional IT (laptops/servers) into the industrial control systems of factories, energy grids and manufacturing floors. This eliminates blind spots and unifies resilience across IT and OT.
Expansion into Operational Technology (OT) drives the following outcomes:
- OT Security: Single source of truth, improved security for critical infrastructure and reduced production downtime.
- Visibility: Elimination of blind spots across factories, utilities, campuses and remote workers, with a unified view of risk and hygiene across IT, OT and mobile endpoints.
- Unified Resilience: Allows organizations to patch, update and secure critical industrial machinery with the same speed and toolset used for corporate laptops, reducing the risk of production downtime due to cyberattacks.
3. AI Agent for ServiceNow
Tanium deepened its integration with the ServiceNow AI Platform (Now Assist) and broader ecosystem, enabling ServiceNow to pull live endpoint data via Tanium and execute actions like restarts, patches, and configuration fixes directly from the ITSM interface. This integration enables ServiceNow AI to "reach out" to endpoints via Tanium to fetch live data (e.g., "What is the uptime of this device?") or execute fixes (e.g., "Restart the print spooler") without requiring the analyst to leave the ServiceNow chat interface.
AI Agent for ServiceNow enables the following outcomes:
- Autonomous: Outcomes: Automated self-healing, unified incident management, and reduced "swivel-chair" friction.
- Workflows: Zero‑touch or low‑touch resolution for a significant class of incidents, as AI-driven workflows diagnose and remediate issues before a human ever opens the ticket.
- Visibility: Unified workflows and fewer "swivel chair" moves between consoles, improving efficiency, data quality and the accuracy of CMDB and change decisions.
4. Jump Gate (Just-in-Time Access)
Jump Gate is a new Zero Trust security capability designed to eliminate standing privileges. Instead of administrators having permanent admin rights on endpoints (a major security risk), Jump Gate grants just-in-time (JIT) and just-enough-access for a specific task and revokes it immediately after completion.
Jump Gate (Just-in-Time Access) facilitates the following outcomes:
- Reduced attack surface: Drastically lowers the risk of credential theft. If an admin's credentials are stolen, attackers cannot use them to move laterally because the accounts do not have permanent high-level privileges.
- Audit readiness: Creates a clear, auditable trail of exactly who accessed what machine and for how long, simplifying compliance with strict regulatory frameworks.
5. Unified Mobile Management & Intune Connector
Tanium closed the loop on device coverage by announcing native management for Apple mobile devices (iPhones, iPads, Macs) and a bi-directional connector for Microsoft Intune. This allows Tanium to ingest telemetry from Intune-managed devices and enforce configurations across the entire mobile fleet.
Unified Mobile Management & Intune Connector prepares the following outcomes:
- Total estate visibility: Security teams no longer need to check separate consoles for mobile devices versus workstations; they get one unified view of risk across the entire enterprise.
- Consistent enforcement: Ensures that security policies (such as patch levels or configuration standards) are applied consistently, regardless of whether the device is a Windows server, a Mac or an iPad.
- Risk: Unified risk view, consistent policy enforcement and support for hybrid work environments.
Summary of Tanium features and outcomes:
| Feature | Primary Customer Benefit |
|---|---|
| Tanium Ask | Speed & efficiency: Reduces manual investigation time by allowing plain-language commands.
|
| ServiceNow AI Agent | Automation: Enables self-healing IT tickets and resolves issues without human intervention. |
| OT Management | Visibility: Secures industrial environments (factories/plants) alongside corporate IT. |
| Jump Gate | Security: Enforces Zero Trust by removing permanent admin rights (standing privileges). |
| Mobile/Intune | Consolidation: Unifies management of mobile and desktop devices into a single platform. |
