Military Unit Builds Out Data Center for Continuous Availability

Demos and workshops in the ATC ensure right solution for data center virtualization and future capacity needs

A military unit looking to provide continuous availability to their end users and process large data files sought a single resource for supporting the design for their new data center build-out. Currently working with a different partner, the unit asked for our input on their initial data center design.

Using our Advanced Technology Center (ATC), we performed demos and workshops that led to us becoming the unit’s sole advisor for the build-out and delivering a better data center design. The new solution included the use of VPLEX to virtualize storage and create continuous availability for users, and Isilon to support the large throughput of data files. In addition, we performed workshops on Cisco UCS and EMC Isilon to help the unit understand the functionality and scale-out abilities of these two products.

WWT served as a single resource for the military unit’s complete data center design. The pair worked closely to ensure the unit’s requirements were met and their questions were answered. The unit has procured all the hardware for the data center build-out and is currently working with OEMs on the install.
