DevNet Create 2021

DevNet Create, now in its fifth year, is an opportunity to learn from a community of developers about software development, cloud infrastructure and infrastructure automation.

Cisco DevNet Create is more than a conference — it's a community.

World Wide Technology has participated in DevNet Create since its inception in 2017. This year, the two-day virtual event includes four channels:

  • DevNet Create - Channel 1
  • Creators - Channel 2
  • APIs in Action - Channel 3
  • Start Now - Channel 4

Each channel offers sessions by industry experts on topics that include security, DevOps, GitHub Actions (CI/CD pipelines), APIs, programming languages (Python and GoLang) and automated test frameworks. There is something for everyone, regardless of your skill level. These sessions mix technical deep dives, lightning talks and demos with code tips and techniques.

This year, WWT's Joel King  presented on a topic outside the realm of network automation: "Do you have any slides …….? " — a tech topic in the Simplicity & Cloud-First category.

The session examines how he has used Natural Language Processing (NLP) to extract relevant keywords from the thousands of PowerPoint presentations created and hosted over the years. To share these presentations, Joel uses the MinIO Python SDK to upload these files to a cloud-based object store along with tags and metadata. When sharing a presentation with the team, he matches the keywords to locate the appropriate slide deck along with a download URL.

This free virtual event originally aired in these regions:

AMERICAS: Oct 19-20, 2021 APJC and EMEAR: Oct 20-21, 2021

The session replays are available for viewing on the DevNet site and on the DevNet Youtube channel.
