GCP Networking Fundamentals Lab

Welcome to the Google Cloud Networking Fundamentals lab! You'll learn essential networking concepts and practices using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) in this lab. Through a series of challenges, you'll gain hands-on experience setting up VPCs, configuring firewall rules, deploying VM instances, and implementing load balancing.

Lab Challenges

Challenge 1: VPC Setup and Firewall Rules

• Create a VPC network with a custom subnet.
• Set up basic firewall rules to allow SSH traffic to VM instances.

Challenge 2: Virtual Machine Instances and IP Addresses

• Deploy VM instances within the VPC.
• Internal and External IP addresses our Compute instances.

Challenge 4: SSH configuration and external Firewall rules

• Configure Project-wide SSH for compute instance login
• Create firewall configurations for two instances to ping each other
• Allow each instance to serve as a web server for the Internet

Challenge 4: Load Balancing Setup

• Configure a basic HTTP load balancer.
• Test load balancing functionality with VM instances.

This lab is run on the Google Cloud infrastructure.
