The New Server

Solution overview

n this capstone lab you take over an Ubuntu server from a teammate who left three open tickets, and you close them with goals instead of step-by-step instructions. First you find out why the wwt-report command runs the old version when a new one is installed, and you make the new version the one that runs. Then you give an application account read access to its configuration file by setting the file's owner, group, and mode. Finally you work out why a deploy team can't run a release script whose own permissions look right, and you let the team in without opening anything to other users. Each ticket comes with the check the requesting team runs, so you can prove every fix, and a full worked solution sits under each one for when you get stuck.
