Solution overview

In this lab, we will dive into the components that make up the VMware Private AI solution. At its foundation, the solution runs on VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF). As illustrated in the high‑level design (HLD) below, our environment at WWT consists of a four‑node management cluster and a three‑node workload cluster.

Both clusters leverage vSAN for storage, but they serve different purposes and therefore differ in their compute configurations. The management cluster hosts the core VCF infrastructure services, including SDDC Manager, vCenter Servers, NSX‑T Managers, and other supporting components required to operate and manage the private cloud.

The workload domain is where the real power of VMware Private AI comes to life. This cluster is dedicated to running AI workloads and enables you to leveraging VMware Private AI services (Tanzu) to deploy and orchestrate AI applications using NVIDIA GPUs and NVIDIA AI Enterprise. Together, these components provide a scalable, secure, and high‑performance platform for running enterprise AI workloads in a private cloud environment.
