About this learning path
AI can draft a playbook in seconds, but you still have to trust it before it touches production. This hands-on learning path shows how to connect an AI agent to the Ansible Dev Tools MCP server and use it to scaffold, lint, and test automation against real quality gates, then publish only validated content as a trusted AAP job template.
Your instructors
Prerequisites
- Ansible fundamentals: playbooks, roles, inventory and collections.
- Git basics: clone, branch, commit and push.
- AAP basics: what a job template is and how to launch one manually. Deep AAP API or workflow knowledge isn't required.
What you'll learn
- The difference between build-time and run-time trust, and why AI-generated automation has to pass lint and test gates before it's published
- How to configure an AI agent or AI-enabled editor to use the Ansible Dev Tools MCP server
- How to use the agent to scaffold a playbook or role, then lint it and check it against best practices
- How to test with outcome-based checks: assert tasks and an idempotence re-run, run through ansible-navigator
