About this learning path
This learning path will introduce you to the fundamental concepts of SRv6 uSID with L3VPN over an IPv6 transport. Segment Routing over IPv6 (SRv6) is the successor to SR-MPLS. It natively utilizes the IPv6 data plane to deliver Segment Routing capabilities, simplifying network deployments. SRv6 uses the IPv6 Routing Extension Header to carry multiple IPv6 addresses, including multiple SRv6 SIDs. SRv6 uSID extends this concept by allowing a single 128-bit IPv6 destination address to carry up to six individual SIDs, or MPLS labels. By eliminating the need for MPLS label shims and transporting SRv6 SIDs as IPv6 addresses, any IPv6-capable router can forward an SRv6 packet. This enables the deployment of SRv6 services over any IPv6-enabled infrastructure.
