WWT's Commercial Northeast team recently paired up with GrowNYC for their day of caring. GrowNYC transforms communities block by block and empowers New Yorkers to secure a clean and healthy environment for future generations.
Employees spent their time transforming a 4,000-square-foot lot into a sustainable community garden in Brooklyn. They shoveled more than 40 tons of mulch, built picnic benches and planter boxes for members of the community to plant vegetables, herbs and flowers.
"We learned that sometimes it will take blood, sweat and tears to help bring positive changes to the community," said Yahaira Moore, Administrative Assistant. "Sometimes stepping away from our desks, meetings and other engagements to simply help out our community is needed and a breath of fresh air."
