Scoop News Group is thrilled to announce the 2022 Best Bosses in Federal IT.

This year's list comes as there's a widespread push for digital transformation in the federal government — notably around the need to modernize cybersecurity, enhance customer experience in citizen-facing agencies and a continued emphasis to recruit and retain top tech talent — and a need for strong leaders to inspire and champion that transformation.

An annual awards list, the Best Bosses in Federal IT recognizes the leaders in our community who demonstrate vision, inspiration and leadership as they rally their teams to deliver innovative technology to serve our community and country.

The list of winners comprises CIOs, CISOs and other tireless federal IT decision-makers striving to deliver on their agency's mission and serve the American public through technology. The list also includes leaders from industry who play an instrumental role in working with federal agencies to provide the mission-critical commercial technologies they use.

Nominees were sourced from community nominations and the winners chosen through open voting over the last several months. This year Scoop News Group received thousands of nominations and hundreds of thousands of votes across the entire federal IT community.

To recognize the winners, FedScoop asked them about the important qualities of a good leader, the most important lessons learned since joining the federal government or supporting it as a partner in industry, and more.

Please join us in congratulating the 2022 winners, including WWT's Scot Gagnon, and see their thoughts on federal IT leadership in profiles.
