Fortune Reveals 2026's 100 Best Workplaces: What Does It Take to Rise to the Top?
via The HR Digest
The Fortune 100 Best Workplaces list takes a yearly look at companies that aren't just financially successful, but have successfully created a workplace where employees can build careers and grow with the organization. Featuring on a list doesn't always make operations perfect by default, but they do allow employees to get a better sense of the workplace and what to expect from its culture and community.
Fortune Lists the 100 Best Workplaces for 2026: What Does It Mean to Be an Ideal Place of Work?
The 2026 Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For List, released in partnership with Great Place To Work, is an annual acknowledgement of workplaces that stood out in 2025. "The 100 Best group shows broader representation across industries such as financials, consumer discretionary, industrials, health care, and telecommunications, underscoring that the long-term results come from a diversified set of companies rather than concentration in mega-cap names," said Catherine Yoshimoto, director, product management at FTSE Russell.
Today, the top employers list primarily serves as another metric for investors to take into account while planning where to redirect their wealth. As Great Place To Work notes, "its model has a long track record of measuring the value employees bring to the workplace. Companies on the list have seen an annualized stock return of 13.4% over the past 28 years, compared to 9.2% for the Russell 3000 Index."
This doesn't offer employees the best insight into the reason for working for an employer that ranks well on this list, but it does offer some perspective on what drives the companies that feature on it. As a result, the list ultimately functions more as a tool for other employers to determine how best to drive their own operations, but there are some takeaways for employees as well. As the list relies on anonymous feedback from employees to determine its final lineup of winners, it is a reflection of the employee sentiments at the organization to a degree.
