It's that time of year again – when the men of WWT's southwest sales team show off their moustaches to promote awareness for prostate cancer, testicular cancer, poor mental health and physical inactivity in men.

The furry faces will be showing support for The Movember Foundation, a charity focused on improving men's health on a global scale. The foundation has been encouraging men to show off their upper lips since 2003 and funded over a thousand men's health projects thanks to the moustache movement.

Moustaches in Tech

WWT specifically participates in the Movember Technology Challenge, which brings technology companies together in a fun environment to spark some friendly competition.

Our hope is that our employees and partners around the globe will join in the cause. The competitive spirit between WWT and our partners will hopefully drive more donations than expected and help us become the top fundraising team.

WWT is once again led by Matt Campisi, Regional Sales Manager for the commercial southwest, who initially became motivated to kickoff this challenge after watching a TED talk by Adam Garone, the founder of Movember.

"They value innovation, humility and fun, which align strategically with the WWT culture," said Campisi.

Matt also has a personal connection to the Movember Foundation. "I want to be a part of finding a cure for prostate cancer," he says. "My grandfather had prostate cancer, making it more likely that I will have to battle it one day."

How You Can Help

Make sure to perfect your grooming before the end of the month, when the best and worst moustaches will be crowned, along with the individual who raised the most in donations.

When asked about his feelings towards the moustache, Matt says: "I welcome the strange looks and jokes about my moustache as it evolves over the month, if it draws attention to the cause and helps to raise money!"

Those who are unable to participate in the hairy competition can still contribute to the cause by donating to the WWT team. The foundation also encourages women to sign up as "Mo Sistas" and do their part to help raise awareness of men's health challenges.

Invite your friends to join, donate to WWT's team or create your own at http://www.movember.com/.
