Introduction to Optical Networking Training

Optical networking and Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) have long been the technology of choice for transporting large amounts of data between sites. New technology trends like 5G, autonomous vehicles and smart cities rely on optical networking as a transport foundation. The purpose of this training is to help you become familiar with the basic building blocks of an optical network and gain an understanding of the key benefits provided by optical networks.

ADVA ALM 16 Advance Link Monitoring Video Training

Network operators are tasked with the grueling responsibility of running a complex network as proficiently as possible. During which, network failures will likely require on-site personnel with costly equipment to troubleshoot the root cause of the issue. The end goal should be to provide operators the ability to troubleshoot such failures without the need to change out, or manipulate the demarcation device at all costs. Generating real time statistics about the integrity of the fiber network should not incur costly and single use solutions. Proactive fiber monitoring solves these challenges. The Adva ALM is an in-service advanced link monitoring platform for real time monitoring of operators fiber infrastructure. It has the ability to simplify operational processes, decreases the repair time, and enables service agnostic network demarcation. At WWT, we can help you evaluate this equipment through a series of scenarios utilizing the ALM in our Advanced Technology Center (ATC). We have a simulated fiber route which allows us to showcase the OTDR and live fingerprint functionality.
