Istvan Berko is Chief Technical Advisor for AI Solutions in World Wide Technology’s Global Service Provider organization, serving as the senior technical authority for AI engagements across service provider, cloud provider, and digital infrastructure accounts. He leads WWT’s GSP AI Solutions team and works alongside the GSP Office of the CTO, sales leadership, and WWT’s strategic AI partners to help providers move AI from proof of concept into secure, production-scale operations, spanning AI factory architecture, the governance models that make those platforms trustworthy, and the strategy that turns them into sellable services. Istvan joined WWT in 2024 to build its AI security strategy and went on to lead the global practice as Global Head of AI, Cloud and Application Cyber & Innovation. He created ARMOR, WWT’s AI Readiness Model for Operational Resilience, developed with NVIDIA and covering governance and compliance, secure AI operations, model protection, secure development lifecycle, infrastructure security, and data protection, with mappings to NIST AI RMF, OMB M-25-21, and CISA agentic AI guidance. ARMOR is now applied across federal, financial services, manufacturing, and critical infrastructure engagements. He brings more than 25 years of security and infrastructure leadership, much of it from inside service provider and cloud provider businesses. At Amazon Web Services he advised CISOs and C-level executives at global strategic accounts, led the ProServe Security, Risk and Compliance global advisory practice, and ran security advisory for AWS Global Services, contributing to the AWS Cloud Adoption Framework for AI, ML and Generative AI. Before AWS he spent six years with NTT and Dimension Data, finishing as Field CTO for the Security division across the Americas. He began his career in South Africa securing national research and education network infrastructure, working as a PCI QSA and penetration tester, and serving as a lead organizer of BSides Cape Town. Istvan advises boards and executive teams on AI adoption and the risk posture that has to accompany it, and partners closely with NVIDIA, Cisco and AWS to advance AI security holistically across the stack. He speaks regularly on securing AI at scale, including at Cisco Live and WWT AI Day.
