About Matt
As Vice President of Business Development for WWT’s Global Enterprise Segment, Matt Long oversees four distinct areas of the business including the Associate Sales Academy, the Client Development Associate team, Vertical Business Development, and Divisionally Aligned Business Development resources.
The Associate Sales Academy and Client Development Associate Programs are responsible for identifying, onboarding, and training early in career resources (or individuals looking to make a change in their career) to become the next generation of WWT Client Executives or Pre-Sales Engineers.
WWT’s Vertical Business Development team consists of industry subject matter experts with first-hand practical experience on how technology is transforming every industry. Their focus is on creating industry-specific solutions and tailoring WWT’s core differentiators to line of business stakeholders. Divisionally Aligned Business Development Consultants are experts across WWT’s broad portfolio. Both teams engage directly with Clients so that maximum benefit can be gained from a partnership with WWT.
Matt joined WWT as an intern in 1999 while completing his degree in Engineering Management from Missouri University of Science and Technology. After joining full-time in 2001, his focus has been on helping customers solve business challenges. Matt completed a master’s degree of Business Administration (MBA) from Washington University in St. Louis in 2008.
He’s held roles in the IT department as a business systems analyst, as a Project and then Program Manager within our services organization and has been serving in our sales and business development team for over a decade.
Known as an objective and strategic thinker, Matt’s leadership style is heavily influenced by his experience working across and with functional business units. Matt is data-driven, action-oriented, and passionate about fostering an inclusive environment. His leadership ensures that diverse teams feel heard and empowered to make significant contributions to WWT’s growth
As a cancer survivor, Matt is passionate about working with the American Cancer Society to promote a healthy lifestyle and with Pedal the Cause to raise funds for cutting-edge research at the Siteman Cancer Center.
Matt and his wife live in St. Louis and have two children. In his spare time, Matt enjoys cycling, running, weight-training, and officiating soccer.
