Michael Spotts serves as Chief Security Advisor at World Wide Technology. In this role, he is responsible for providing Executive level guidance and expertise across Security Strategy, Risk, and Compliance. He is a seasoned IT, Security, and Telecoms executive with a proven career of designing, implementing, and running global information security programs, operations, and advanced cyber technical services for Fortune 100 companies. Over a 25+ year career, Mr. Spotts has held several leadership roles including Senior Director of Cybersecurity at Comcast and GM of Cyber Development and Operations at BT, two of the world’s leading global telecommunications, managed services, and security providers. Spotts has built and run over 20 global Cyber Security Operation Centers that protect customers ranging from small-to-medium businesses all the way through to nation states. He has also built and run security for some of the world’s largest sporting events to include multiple Olympics and the Rugby World Cup. Spotts is known for his wide range of security and deep technical skills and has a track record of leveraging people, processes, and technology to deliver disruptive solutions and services that drive business value and reduce overall risk. Previously, he was VP of Cybersecurity Consulting and Implementation at NCC Group. In this position, he was responsible for managing the Cybersecurity Consulting and Implementation teams for all North America which included the strategy, financial planning, development, and running of the division across the region. His remit covered Cybersecurity Maturity Assessments and Strategy, Privacy, Governance, Risk, and Compliance, Pen Testing, Third Party Risk, M&A, vCISO, and Risk Remediation. Under his leadership, his team supported and drove the overall cyber maturity and compliance of hundreds of global enterprise customers across all market verticals.
